Despite the rain and poor conditions the Athens schoolchildren performed displays at the entrance to the Acropolis celebrating the onset of the Olympics. The flame had been lit and left Athens the previous day on its way to the 2012 Olympic Games in London. This activity was sponsored by the British Council
