The rights of the song and the video don´t belong to me. The video is done by the BBC. The song is written and sung by Matthew Bellamy, copyrighted by MUSE. It´s taken from their 6th studio album “The 2nd Law”. I heard the song at the closing ceremony of the olympics for the first time. I was hooked. I think this is the best song of all olympics ever. Bombastic, extravagant, authentic. The melody is quite simple and so are the lyrics and I think it has a touch of QUEEN, as well as ELO but way the opera choir vocally fights against the extreme e-guitars is unbelievable and quite unique. The song is about winning and surviving, and it conveys exactly that mood each second. It´s what the athletics might think when they are going for gold. Such a powerful production. I dedicate it to my little dog who is suffering from meningoencephalitis (a brain damage that causes loss of body control) and hopefully will survive. This song is my prayer for him. I couldn´t sing it myself though, so I let Muse do it for me. It´s the first time, I load a video that isn´t my work. But I needed to do so. I need a cyber-shout-out to please please let my dog win and survive. I´m so scared. So scared. He is my first pet and I never imagined I could love him so much. But I do. I really do. Here´s to all pets and especially to Yorkshire dogs.
