Sooraj’s family encourages him to accept Mr.Singh’s proposition. Santosh has misgivings when Sooraj informs them that he will have to close his shop for the next 5 years if he accepts the proposition. Sandhya believes that Sooraj will be unhappy if he does not get to prepare sweets. She asks Sooraj not to give up his dream for the sake of more money. Sooraj refuses to touch his ladle until Sandhya resumes her studies. Mr.Singh asks Sooraj to sign the contract after the Lakshmi puja.
